PA Ski Resorts and Skiing Areas
Ski resorts in Pennsylvania largely center in three geographic areas -- the Poconos of eastern PA, the Alleghenies of the western PA, and the South Mountain region of PA near Gettysburg and Harrisburg. As a result of their plentitude, they must compete fiercely, exploiting the best situations to the advantage of guests.Ski resorts in the Poconos afford proximity to some of the nation's largest cities, notably New York City and Philadelphia, PA. Many skiing areas are world famous -- Bear Creek, Jack Frost, Big Boulder, Camelback, Elk Mountain, Spring Mountain, Blue Mountain, Big Boulder, Jack Frost. Ski resorts in western Pennsylvania draw largely from the Pittsburgh, PA metropolitan area and nearby Ohio and West Virginia. Resorts in south-central Pennsylvania are convenient to Baltimore and Washington, DC.
