Near the Maryland border, Liberty Mountain is among the southernmost skiing areas in Pennsylvania and is the nearest to the Washington, DC and Baltimore, MD metro areas. In the easternmost range of the Blue Ridge Mountain region, the ski area's elevation affords an extended skiing season when temperatures to the southeast may be more moderate.
