Olympic-sized outdoor skating rink located at base of slopes offers day- and nighttime sessions during the winter months. Additional winter activities include cross-country skiing, guided snowmobile tours, snowshoeing and haunted hay rides.

The Homestead resort is a comfortable and scenic drive from across the Midwest, Eastern, and Southern United States (US). The resort is located off Interstate 64 (I-64), in the Allegheny Mountains of southwestern Virginia, near Covington and Lexington, VA, about: 50 miles from Lewisburg, WV; 58 miles from Lexington, VA; 60 miles from Staunton, VA; 73 miles from Roanoke, VA; and 95 miles from Beckley, WV.

Airports / Amtrak

The Homestead is 17 miles from Bath County Airport for private and charter flights. American, US Airways, United, Northwest and Delta have direct flights from major cities to Roanoke Regional Airport, which is a 75-minute drive from the resort. The Greenbrier Valley Airport near  Lewisburg, WV is a 75 minute drive. The airport offers limited service via US Airways, United and Delta. Shenandoah Valley Airport near Staunton, VA is a 90 minute drive. The airport has service from US Airways and United. Shuttle service will meet passengers at all the surrounding airports. Advanced reservations required. The Amtrak station in Clifton Forge, located 18 miles from the resort, is serviced by the Cardinal route.
